  • Guide and Co-guide will be allocated in Semester 2 so that topic finalisation and pre-registration report can be prepared by the end of Semester 2.

Research Advisory Committee (RAC)
  • The Director shall nominate a Research Advisory Committee for each Fellow based on the recommendation of the Guide(s) consisting of one internal expert and two external experts.
Pre-registration Seminar
  • The scholar should give pre-registration seminar at the end of Semester 2. The Research Scholar shall submit 5 copies of the proposal (in about 15-20 pages) 15 days before the date of the Seminar. RAC and Board of Study members will evaluate the progress.

Semester 3, 4

AICTE Registration
  • The scholar should apply for formal registration within one month after successful completion of the pre-registration Seminar.
  • Scholar could be in the field for data collection after approval from the guide.
  • Scholars should submit their theses within 2 years of AICTE registration. Extension can be provided by the approval from Director.

Semester 5, 6

Pre-synopsis Seminar
  • Every scholar before submission of his/ her thesis must give pre-Synopsis Seminar at the Institution. The scholar should submit 5 copies of the pre-Synopsis Report. The Report shall include the focus and the summary of the Thesis. Highlighting his/ her own contribution, details of the methodology, results, analysis, conclusions, limitations, and scope for future research. It is to be submitted through the Guide(s).
Synopsis Submission
  • Scholar should submit five copies of the Synopsis approved by the Guide and Thesis Evaluation committee.
Thesis Submission
  • After approval of the Synopsis the Scholar shall write the Thesis and submit six copies of thesis with necessary certificates for evaluation by Thesis Review Committee.
Open Defense and Viva-Voce
  • Open Defense and Viva-voce examination will be conducted by Thesis Review Committee.

IIHMR Bangalore offers a Doctoral level Fellow Program in Management, and two Postgraduate Diploma courses. The postgraduate courses include Post Graduate Diploma in Management in AI and Data Science Management (Health care) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA Equivalent) with specializations in Hospital Management, Health Management, Health Information Technology Management and Pharmaceutical Management

  • Master’s or equivalent degree with aggregate 60% marks
  • Those appearing for final examination (Such students,if selected shall be provisionally admitted providedthey complete all requirements in obtaining theirmaster’s degree before 30th September of the year ofadmission). The admission of these candidates shallremain provisional until they produce the mark sheetproving that they satisfy the eligibility criteria. Thedeadline for submitting the final year mark sheet is 31stOctober.
  • Working professionals are encouraged to apply for FPM program
  • We encourage candidates with professional degrees such as MBBS, BDS, B. Pharm, BHMS/BAMS/otherequivalent AYUSH degree, B.Sc. Nursing, B.E./B.Techwith a minimum of 60% marks (Relaxation of 5% isgiven to SC/ST candidates) or equivalent grade point.These candidates should have a minimum of two years’experience of working in the health/relevant sectorafter obtaining the degree.

The personal interview is a process to assess candidate’s communication skills and knowledge on the contemporary health issues. The candidate should be able to express his / her interest & motivation in choosing the FPM. The candidate should be able to justify his area of research interest and research proposed along with the application. The interview is to understand the research aptitude of the applicant, and their level of motivation.

The FPM is designed for all types of postgraduates (postgraduates from any stream). This Programme is ideal for both medical & non-medical students who want to work in Health, Hospital, Health IT and Pharmaceutical sectors. The programme’s focus is on the management of health and related sectors. The non-medical students are brought to the level where they can perform research in health management well.

Yes, you can apply and avail of the educational loan for FPM from any leading banks across India. IIHMR Bangalore’s Doctoral level Fellow Program in Management is approved by AICTE. All nationalised and private banks are giving educational loan for this programme. You are required to submit requisite documents to avail the educational loan. IIHMR will provide you the relevant documents required for the same after first installment of fee submission.

Scholarships are available as below:

  • SC/ST/OBC/Economically weaker section ( EWS) who has secured more than or equal to 55% aggregate marks, would be eligible for the scholarship of 100% on tuition fee for all three years (1 SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
  • Differently abled person who has secured more than or equal to 55% aggregate marks, would be eligible for the scholarship of 100% on tuition fee for all three years
  • Aspirants who have cleared UGC NET/UGC JRF exam will get 50% waiver on the tuition fees for all three yeas (JRF Award letter is valid for four years only)
  • IIHMR Faculty/ Staff member who has secured more than or equal to 60% aggregate marks, would be eligible for the scholarship of 50% of the tuition fee for all three years
  • IIHMR Alumni who has secured more than or equal to 70% aggregate marks, would be eligible for the scholarship of 50% tuition fee and full alumni fee waiver for all three years

IIHMR Bangalore holds an excellent track record of exceptional placements in the Healthcare Industry – Hospitals, Public Health organisations, NGOs, TPAs, Health IT, and Consultancy Organizations. The institute has a Placement & Training Cell that comprising faculty and student representatives who actively engages students’ competencies to align with industry requirements. FPM scholars may be provided with placement assistance on a case-to-case basis.

The Institute has a well-furnished hostel facility for both men and women separately with Wi-Fi, a mess facility, 24*7 security, housekeeping, drinking water, a washing machine, and a common lobby cum recreation room (TV, Carrom, Chess). The cafeteria on the campus is a well-equipped, modern & hygienic kitchen with a large dining area and separate student & staff dining areas. There are various PG facilities near the campus and the scholars can also use them based on their needs.

Yes, students can complete the admission formalities and submit the required documents and marksheets within two months of the commencement of the course. Provisional admission will be given to the students till they submit the marksheet.

The Doctoral level Fellow Program in Management at IIHMR, Bangalore, is approved by AICTE where as the PhD is awarded by any University. FPM is considered equivalent to PhD and is valid for advancement of career in industry and academia alike.
